Saskatoon bikes to work
Commuters who biked to work were able to stop by our Commuter Station, fill up on on coffee and scones from Collective Coffee, and get a freshly blended fruit smoothie from our friends at the Saskatchewan Environmental Society, courtesy of their bicycle-powered blender.
Today is Bike to Work Day in Saskatoon, and we made absolutely sure that we participated in the event with full force. This morning from 7 to 9am, The Two Twenty hosted a "Commuter Station" for bikers looking to take a break and refuel with a quick cup of coffee and a light snack on their way to work.
Our station had commuters biking from near and far, with a few people even making the trek from the north end of the city! With approximately 70 people stopping in, we made a lot of new friends and saw a lot of familiar faces this morning, and one thing was clear: Saskatonians like biking in their city.
And as for The Two Twenty staff, we had a blast. See you at our commuter station next year!
We asked commuters to draw their route on Saskatoon's 2014 Cycling Guide.
Looks like Saskatoon's downtown core could benefit from an increase in bicycle infrastructure.
